DRUNKEN HEARTS CROSS “THE OTHER SIDE” WITH HAUNTING NEW SINGLE

“The Other Side” is a haunting new single from Drunken Hearts exploring the thin veil between life and death and the yearning to speak to those who’ve crossed beyond it. Featuring the extraordinary Bonnie Sims (of Big Richard & RIAA-certified Platinum project Everybody Loves an Outlaw) on mandolin and harmony vocals, the song taps into an otherworldly realm — like a message carried through the ether. “The Other Side” is a desperate prayer for connection where words no longer reach.
Produced & co-written by Nashville songsmith Dave Pahanish (who has penned #1 Billboard Hits for Tim McGraw & Toby Keith) & featuring Bonnie Sims (Big Richard / Everybody Loves an Outlaw) on mandolin & harmonies, the song explores the space between life & death — a heartfelt reflection to Drunken Hearts founding drummer, Ted Welles, who passed away unexpectedly in 2014.
The single finds Drunken Hearts at their most vulnerable and human. Andrew McConathy’s weathered voice cuts through the mix with the gravity of someone who’s lived every word, while Sims’ harmonies shimmer, like voices from another dimension. It’s raw, soul-searching, cinematic Country/Americana — tender & unrelenting, grounded & ghostly, blurring the line between grief & grace.
“You throw your voice out into the night, hoping it hits something — a ghost, maybe God, maybe just the wind. Either way, it’s all part of the same cosmic conversation with the unknown. We sing into the void, because that’s where truth hides.” — Andrew McConathy
