Announcing the 2024 BajaWondergrass Festival Lineup, Featuring Fruition and The Lil Smokies

After a successful first-year festival in Baja California Sur, the founders of the popular Wondergrass festivals have just announced they will be returning to La Tuna Beach Bar in El Sargento on April 24 – 26, 2024.

As our readers know, we are huge fans of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” music festival. A festival that includes travel and adventure along with the music experience.  It has been something we have sought out for years, but now they are becoming much more popular formats. 

So, when Bonfire Entertainment announced the 2023 BajaWondergrass – we didn’t hesitate to plan our trip.  

We took the opportunity to travel through the Baja Peninsula, discover new favorite towns, meet new friends – and be a part of an amazing inaugural festival experience.

CHERISHED BAJAWONDERGRASS FESTIVAL TO FEATURE FRUITION, THE LIL SMOKIES, WINTERWONDERWOMEN, PICKIN’ ON THE DEAD & SPECIAL GUEST MARK MORRIS

BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, Mexico – The Sea of Cortez, aka “the aquarium of the world,” will provide the perfect setting for the second annual BajaWonderGrass, an intimate gathering of WinterWonderGrass family and friends taking place April 24-26, 2024, at La Tuna, a beach bar in El Sargento, Baja California Sur. Tickets go on sale today for the festival, featuring several WonderGrass favorites: Fruition, The Lil Smokies, WinterWonderWomen, Pickin’ on the Dead and Bonfire Dub, with special guest artist-at-large, Mark Morris.

According to founder Scotty Stoughton, this event is small, simple and family-friendly. There are no VIP passes and shoes are optional.

“We are honored to be welcomed back to a place I call a part-time home. The gathering takes place in the perfect little beachside bar and restaurant, with two stages, fresh ceviche, tacos, and ice-cold beer.  Once again we are supporting the local ambulance district and planning daily beach and community clean-ups,” he reports. “Please lend a hand, enjoy the local culture, and leave nothing behind but your heart.”

Like every WonderGrass event, the goal is to leave this beautiful festival destination cleaner than it was upon arrival. The Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California, is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its biodiversity — which makes it one of the best fishing destinations in the world. La Ventana, adjacent to El Sargento, is renowned for kitesurfing and wing foiling but the area offers abundant hiking, mountain biking, fishing, stand-up paddling, snorkeling, and even hot springs.

WonderGrass festivals include WinterWonderGrass Steamboat, March 1-3, 2024, in Steamboat Springs, Colo.; WinterWonderGrass Tahoe, April 5-7, 2024, in Olympic Valley, Calif.; BajaWonderGrass, April 24-26, 2024, at La Tuna, El Sargento, Baja California Sur, Mexico; and May-through-September RiverWonderGrass trips, to be announced on Nov. 7.
