Rhythms on the Rio Music Festival surprised fans with a flurry of announcements this week, culminating in the release of the daily schedules, with single-day tickets available.
👉 The biggest addition to the festival is the surprise announcement of Billy Failing. Known as the banjo picker for Grammy-winning artist, Billy Strings, Failing comes with his own band and music, and is sure to deliver a powerhouse set of fast-picking bluegrass.
👉 Rhythms on the Rio kicked the week off by announcing the new Cottonwood Stage. The festival stated, “Located in the rear of the festival grounds, the Cottonwood Stage will feature sets between the Mill Stage (main stage) acts. No overlapping music, and a very short walk between the two stages, so you can dance all day long!”
👉 They followed by announcing the return of a couple of artists from previous years – Melody Monroe and Morningside String Band. Melody Monroe, billed last year as “DJ Melody,” turned more than a few heads with her late-night dance party set under the tent. Morningside String Band are a powerful bluegrass outfit out of Steamboat, CO who wowed the Rhythms crowd with their opening slot in 2023.
👉 Squeaky Feet is another exciting addition to the 2025 Rhythms on the Rio roster. Squeaky Feet is redefining the prog rock & jam-band experience with their electrifying blend of progressive rock, jazz fusion, and dance grooves – a party that will definitely be welcomed in Del Norte!
👉 Rhythms also revealed the Thursday Pre-Party act – The Other Brothers. Featuring members of JJ Grey & Mofro, Circles Around The Sun, John Oates Band, The High Hawks, Drunken Hearts, and Steely Dead, The Other Brothers capture the spirit and invoke the furious musical interplay of The Allman Brothers Band.
All of this is on top of the already announced roster, featuring: Andy Frasco & the U.N. • Kitchen Dwellers • Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country • Dogs in a Pile • Mihali • Pixie & the Partygrass Boys • Jeremy Garrett (Artists-at-Large) • Sicard Hollow • Diggin’ Dirt • Arkansauce • Tuttle, Pool & Greuel • Silas Herman & the Tone Unit • Johnny Mullenax • Cristina Vane • Magoo • Link & Chain • Elder Grown • Mighty Holler.
With the announcement of the Daily Schedules (see below), Rhythms on the Rio now has single-day tickets available, as well as 3-Day Passes and Thursday Early-Entry Passes.
