ASHEVILLE, NC – On Sunday, March 29, at 1 p.m., a group of local and national musicians will come together in song for the second annual Chords for Callum, a community-powered benefit supporting the STXBP1 Foundation.

The family-friendly event will take place at Highland Brewing Co.’s spacious The Barrel Room at 12 Old Charlotte Highway, with two of the region’s best food trucks: Bric’s Dip & Roll – Italian Beef and Beyond and Tin Can Pizzeria.  The live show will feature performances from Jon Stickley, Lyndsay Pruett, Lindsay Lou and Kyle Tuttle; as well as Asheville’s own Fireside Trio with Jesse Iaquinto, Tommy Maher and Carson White.

Stickley’s 5-year-old son Callum was diagnosed with STXBP1 — an extremely rare neurodevelopmental disorder affecting movement, coordination, and communication that causes epilepsy and global developmental delay — shortly before his second birthday.

The concert will be held in conjunction with an online silent auction that will open at noon EST on Sunday, March 22 and will run through noon EST on Sunday, March 29. The silent auction will feature items contributed by many of Callum’s friends, including Billy Strings, Leftover Salmon, Greensky Bluegrass, Hulaween and many more. Auction items will be announced closer to the concert date. Last year’s benefit raised over $35,000 — directly funding the intensive therapies, adaptive equipment and specialized tools Callum needs to thrive. Because of this community’s generosity, Callum was able to participate in two intensive therapy programs in 2025. As a result of that support, he began walking and intentionally using his augmentative and alternative communication device to communicate — major milestones for a child with his diagnosis.

This year, Chords for Callum is growing its reach. Funds raised will benefit the STXBP1 Foundation, supporting critical research, advocacy and family resources for children living with STXBP1 around the world. With promising advances in genetic research and targeted therapies, the potential for meaningful treatment breakthroughs — and ultimately a cure — feels more tangible than ever. What began as a way to support one child is now an effort to help accelerate research and bring hope to an entire community.

“We were overwhelmed by the generosity our community showed at last year’s Chords for Callum,” said Jon and Julianne Stickley. “What began as a way to support our son became something so much bigger; and because of this love, Callum reached milestones we once only hoped for. As we look ahead, we’re hopeful that supporting the STXBP1 Foundation will help accelerate research and move us closer to transformative treatments — and one day, a cure — for every family impacted.”

Kyle Tuttle and Lindsay Lou, who welcomed their son last year, said they are more than happy to support the Stickleys. “There is no love like the love we have for our babies,” they said. “When you become a mother, you begin to see all babies as your own, in a way. The Stickleys are dear friends, and knowing we can do a small part in helping find the much needed care for their baby feels as natural as breathing.”

Mandolin player Jesse Iaquinto of Fireside Collective agreed. Jon Stickley produced and played on the band’s first album, and has remained an inspiration, he said. “We are honored to be a part of the benefit concert and are happy to share our music to help raise funds,” Iaquinto added. “The Stickleys have been a pillar of the Asheville music scene for many years. We are looking forward to helping spread awareness around STXBP1 and are excited to be supporting a family who has supported us so much!”
