Molly Tuttle Announced as the Surprise Headliner at Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival

by Jun 17, 2025Previews

Annapolis Baygrass Finally Reveals the Surprise Headliner for 2025:  Molly Tuttle

After months of teasing a forthcoming Surprise Headliner, the Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival has announced Molly Tuttle will be performing at Sandy Point State Park this September.

This exciting news comes shortly after Molly Tuttle announced her brand new band.   After four years touring with Golden Highway (Dominick Leslie (mandolin), Kyle Tuttle (banjo), Bronwyn Keith-Hynes (fiddle), and Shelby Means (bass)), Molly will now front a new all-female quintet.

Featuring Ellen Angelico (dobro, guitar), Mary “Mair” Mulroney (fiddle, mandolin, keys), Megan Jane (drums, washboard), and Vanessa McGowan (upright + electric bass), fans are looking forward to experiencing the new sound and energy expected from this dynamic musical group.

Molly has also announced that a new album will be released this August, but fans can check out the latest single today.  {LISTEN HERE}

Molly Tuttle is one of the most decorated guitarists alive.  In 2017, she was the first woman to win the prestigious International Bluegrass Music Awards’ Guitar Player of the Year.   She won it again in 2018.  Molly has been awarded two Grammys for her 2022 and 2023 albums, plus a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2023.

Annapolis Baygrass Festival has already announced an incredible lineup for their 3rd year at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Maryland.  With 14 powerful bands performing on 2 beachside stages over the two-day festival, Baygrass has put together one of the most eye-catching lineups for fans of all music genres.

Greensky Bluegrass will play two full sets, closing out the Main Stage on Saturday night.  With Holly Bowling attending as an Artist-at-Large (for both days), festivalgoers can expect to see some fiery sit-ins (if they aren’t treated to a full 6reensky show)!

Railroad Earth and The Kitchen Dwellers are returning festival performers – and for good reason.  Attendees raved about their previous shows at Baygrass, and their dedicated fan groups will be sure to show up to support their return this year.

Regional favorites, The Travelin’ McCourys, will grace the stage for two unique sets on Sunday.  Along with their traditional Travelin’ McCourys set, the McCourys will perform as The Grateful Ball – a high-energy bluegrass tribute to the original jam pioneers, The Grateful Dead.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Dead, and several Baygrass performers plan to honor their legacy. Fans speculate tributes from Midnight North (featuring Grahame Lesh, singer/guitarist) and LaMP (featuring Russ Lawton (of Trey Anastasio Band), Scott Metzger (of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead), and Ray Paczkowski (of Trey Anastasio Band), just to mention a couple.
