This has become a summer tradition at Red Rocks, and there’s really no better concert to choose to plan a Red Rocks visit around than Tedeschi Trucks Band.
This band simply rocks. A full stage of incredible musicians playing their asses off to a packed house at Red Rocks is something everyone should experience – and Tedeschi Trucks does is in a way that truly appeals to everyone. Bring the whole family to this party. Everyone’s jaws will be on the ground from Susan Tedeschi’s silky vocals and Derek Trucks’ unbelievable guitar.
This is a 2 night run – so double the chances to see them, or go both nights for a Red Rocks visit you’ll ever forget!
BONUS: The amazing Margo Price is supporting.
Lake Street Dive with the Colorado Symphony
July 21, 2024
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is known for booking shows that are extra special events – and this is one of them.
Lake Street Dive is know for soulful rock, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more, accentuated by an electric sound and original songwriting that instantly gets stuck in your head. In a good way.
Vocalist Rachael Price has a range and power to her voice that will echo throughout Red Rocks Amphitheatre in an unforgettable way, and combined with the sounds of the Colorado Symphony, this will surely be a night to remember at Red Rocks.
Widespread Panic
June 21, 22, 23
Widespread Panic has sold out Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a record 67 times, having first played the iconic venue on September 14, 1991, opening for Blues Traveler. Panic played their first three-night run at Red Rocks in 1999, establishing a tradition that has endured almost every year since.
The 2023 run will mark Panic’s 71st – 73rd shows at Red Rocks.
There’s a reason they continue to return to Red Rocks every year. You should probably just make the trek to Red Rocks this summer to see why.
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead
Saturday, June 1
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead is becoming a new-ish Red Rocks summer tradition, kicking off June with an epic party.
JRAD is not a cover band – get that out of your head now. Sure, they play a catalogue of recognizable tunes that draw heavily from the Grateful Dead, with a sprinkle of Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, Allman Brothers and more, but they present the tunes and flow from one to the next in a way that is completely unique to JRAD. And they do it better than anyone.
JRAD at Red Rocks is a party, plain and simple.
Heart
Sunday, September 22
Some shows you just know will be epic.
Heart at Red Rocks is definitely one of them. The combination of Nancy Wilson’s shredding guitar and Ann Wilson’s amazingly powerful vocals will surely shake the Rocks to its foundation.
Just think about the electricity in this one-of-a-kind venue when the opening notes of “Crazy On You” come in, before giving way to the driving drums that will have the entire amphitheater bouncing and singing along.
And don’t discount Heart as another aging has-been trying to make a buck. Nope. This band is for real.
Brandi Carlile with the Colorado Symphony
Friday, September 6 / Saturday, September 7
Another appearance of the Colorado Symphony at Red Rocks, and another night surely to be filled with magic.
The storytelling of Brandi Carlile, her voice, her guitar, and her band, combined with the Colorado Symphony… we’re getting chills just thinking about it.
These shows will be special. If you’re thinking of a reason to plan a trip to Colorado to visit Red Rocks this summer, it would be tough to find a better reason than this!
Greensky Bluegrass
Friday, September 13 / Saturday, September 14
A September tradition in Colorado is to kick off the fall season with Greensky Bluegrass at Red Rocks. And, just like autumn in Colorado, these shows have become unpredictable.
No, we’re not just talking about the weather, although you should definitely be prepared for anything at this and every Red Rocks show. But Greensky has been know for pulling out all the stops at Red Rocks, like last year when they brought a full on pyrotechnics show!
They are also known for incredible support acts on the Rocks, and this year is par for the course, with The California Honeydrops and Andy Frasco & The U.N.
Blues Traveler
July 4th
We’ve been using the word “tradition” a lot in this article, and that’s because Red Rocks is full of them. Whether you live in Colorado or make an annual pilgrimage to Red Rocks, there are ample opportunities to recreate your favorite events each year.
Blues Traveler has played Red Rocks every July 4 since 1994, with the exception of 1999 and 2020, and there is no better way to celebrate Independence Day in Colorado than at Red Rocks.
This is an amazing party for the whole family – and with the additions of Eggy and JJ Grey & Mofro, this year’s 4th of July at Red Rocks will be epic.
Charley Crocket
Thursday, September 12
The Man from Waco is coming to town with his “$10 Cowboy” Tour, and you can’t miss him. Charley Crocket is a legend in the making, so it’s fitting that he’s bringing a couple of other legends along with him – Tanya Tucker and Junior Brown.
This might be the don’t-miss show of the summer for Red Rocks Amphitheatre. No doubt that this will be a packed house, with music fans traveling from around the world to see Charley Crocket at Red Rocks! You should join them.
Khruangbin
August 27 and 28
Over the last two years Khruangbin has remained unwavering in their musical vision, selling out shows at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre and London’s Alexandra Palace.
They’ve released five live LPs showcasing their stage prowess, and why they are a can’t-miss band for Red Rocks.
Some artists were just made for this venue – Khruangbin is without a doubt one of them.
Atmosphere
Friday, August 16
Some shows at Red Rocks you just know will be a party. This is one of them.
Atmosphere – the iconic and genre-bending Minneapolis indie rap duo – is known for merging indie rock and hip hop, but with this lineup, make no mistake that this will be an amazingly fun hip-hop show on the Rocks.
Method Man & Redman are a party, for sure, but the legendary rap project of DELTRON 3030 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre will be one of the secretly coveted sets of the summer.
