Same Team Launches Fundraiser to Support Gun Control
Same Team Apparel is a More Than Just a Fuzzy Feeling
If you’re like me, you’ve been to a show or festival recently and have seen people (and musicians) wearing t-shirts that say “Same Team” on the front. It seemed like a nice sentiment, and it was cool that band members were getting behind this warm and fuzzy feeling. It would be great if we all played together nicely and got along, right?
Well, folks, this is more than just a feeling. This is greater than just a sentiment on a t-shirt. Same Team is a MOVEMENT to change the way we think and to mobilize others to join together. When we all stop to realize that we are all in this thing together and that we are all literally on the Same Team – we can change the way people act and interact with each other.
Here’s the deal: SAME TEAM is based on the idea that we cannot survive independently! Their mission is to encourage people to think about others and care for their community. Further, it is based on the notion that life is better with friends (duh!) and that joy and gratitude enhance the quality of life.
You can read more about their mission here: http://www.sameteam.org/about/
So, what started as a sweet sentiment between a loving couple that wanted to put their little squabbles into perspective has now turned into a motivational message that can be used to unify the masses to truly make a difference. And they’ve taken that message to a new level, by providing t-shirts specifically for raising funds for important causes. Currently, the Same Team founders are supporting a super important issue: Gun Control.
On February 14th, 2018, a mass shooting occurred at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Seventeen people were killed (and seventeen more were injured) on Valentine’s Day. A day devoted to showing love to others will go down in history as a day of sorrow for so many. Mass shootings are becoming a common occurrence in the United States, and it’s time for a change!
FACT: On an average day, 96 Americans are killed with guns. According to CNN, the US makes up less than 5% of the world population, but holds 31% of global mass shooters.
Crazy, right? Well, there are more crazy US gun facts you should know about:

In an effort to show their support for Gun Control, and to let others do the same, SAME TEAM Goods launched a new line of shirts. These shirts feature their usual Same Team logo in athletic font on the front, but include a second screenprint with an assault rifle in a crossed out circle, on the back. (Image Below)
And the best part is that 100% of the proceeds from these limited edition shirts will go to Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence and to Everytown for Gun Safety in an effort to make some much-needed change.
You can order these four shirt styles (in heather royal blue) on their Etsy page:
