Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado is one of the most iconic live music venues in the world. There are many things to consider when visiting Red Rocks, and one of the most important is the ticketing. Since 2018, Red Rocks Amphitheatre has used Flash Seats for all event ticketing. We will guide you through everything you need to know about using Flash Seats at Red Rocks.
What is Flash Seats?
Flash Seats is a digital ticketing system used at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It is ID based, so you enter Red Rocks by using a Flash Seats ID, your driver’s license or the credit card used to make the ticket purchase. You use Flash Seats to manage your tickets digitally, having the ability to buy, sell and transfer tickets through an official platform.
Creating a Flash Seats Account
In order to use Flash Seats at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, you will first need to create a Flash Seats account. This is a simple matter of filling in some basic information, including a credit card. You will not be charged for anything, but this information will be used to identify you.
You can also register using the Flash Seats mobile app. The Flash Seats mobile app is compatible with iOS 6.1 or later for iPhone and iPod Touch and with Android 2.3.3 or later for the Android devices.
Do I have to use Flash Seats for tickets at Red Rocks Amphitheatre?
The short answer is ‘No,’ however Red Rocks is making it so that Flash Seats is the easiest, most convenient and most affordable option for ticketing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. If you choose not to use Flash Seats for Red Rocks tickets, you may opt for a good old fashioned ‘Hard Ticket,’ for the price of $15/order. These can either be mailed to you or made available at the Red Rocks Box Office (open 4 hours prior to show time).
Getting into Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Flash Seats Tickets
Your registered Flash Seats ID is all that you need to enter Red Rocks with Flash Seats tickets. Your Flash Seats ID can be displayed on the Flash Seats App, or the Red Rocks App. There is wi-fi available at all ticketing gates at Red Rocks. The credit card attached to your Flash Seats account or your driver’s license will also work as a Flash Seats ID.
Flash Seats: Multiple Guests on Ticket Order
Commonly, visitors to Red Rocks will purchase more than one ticket – for your friends/family/traveling companions, as well as yourself. This is no problem with Flash Seats, however, it is highly recommended that each person attending the concert download the Flash Seats app and create their own account. Once this is done, each ticket can be easily transferred to each guest, in case you do not all enter together.
Transferring Flash Seats Tickets to Red Rocks
Transferring seats makes it easy to provide each guest in your party with his/her own Flash Seats ticket. This convenience improves the old ways of frantically trying to meet your friends at the gate to hand off your paper tickets.
To transfer tickets on Flash Seats:
Note that some areas within Red Rocks Amphitheatre are non-transferable. Refer to your order to review whether your seats are transferable. If they are, follow these steps to complete a transfer to a different recipient:
- Log in, and then click TICKETS in the toolbar
- Find the event and tickets you want to transfer and click TRANSFER.
- Check the boxes for the tickets you want to transfer.
- Enter the name and email of the recipient and click PREVIEW THE FLASH TRANSFER
- Click CONFIRM TRANSFER and the recipient will immediately receive an email with instructions on how to claim the tickets
Which Flash Seats Red Rocks Tickets are non-transferrable?
Since the start of the 2018 Red Rocks concert season, all tickets to Rows 1 – 4 are non-transferrable. This means they can only be used by the original purchaser. Some shows may expand this limitation beyond row 4, so check your ticket order for specific limitations.
If there are multiple tickets on an order for Rows 1 – 4, the original purchaser and the entire party must arrive at the entrance gate together.
How to sell Flash Seats tickets to a Red Rocks show
The Official Red Rocks Fan-to-Fan Exchange is the best place to sell tickets to Red Rocks shows.
- Log in and click TICKETS in the toolbar
- Find the event and tickets you want to list for sale and click SELL
- Check the boxes for the tickets you want to list for sale
- Enter your asking price per ticket, the listing expiration date and time, and add any additional seat description
- Click PREVIEW OFFER, then click CONFIRM OFFER and your seat will be immediately posted
Reminder: Some seats at Red Rocks Amphitheatre are non-transferable and are not qualified to be resold.
Using Flash Seats at Red Rocks Amphitheatre should be an easy and convenient alternative to traditional ticketing methods. Flash Seats alleviates the stress of trying to find your friends on ‘the lot’ before the show to hand off paper tickets. It makes transferring and selling tickets a simple and safe process. When used correctly, it should streamline the entrance process at Red Rocks.
Of course, you can’t quite frame a ticket from an app and hang it on your wall after the show, but, hey, the future’s not perfect!
