Sugar Pine Music Festival Announces Initial 2023 Lineup
Sugar Pine Music Festival – formerly Hangtown Music Festival – takes place October 19-22, 2023, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, CA.
Sugar Pine Music Festival has just released its initial lineup for 2023 – and it is sweet!
With funk band Lettuce leading things off, Sugar Pine is making a statement that this new encantation of the festival will be a dance party!
Along with Lettuce’s funk, the announcement included some gritty rock swagger with Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, and some retro beats with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe performing a Tribute to the Beastie Boys! Sign us up for this!
The full initial lineup is well rounded, and packed from top to bottom. Jennifer Hartswick will bring her powerful voice and brass, and Eddie Roberts will tantalize with impossible guitar licks while playing with The Lucky Strokes.
Honey Island Swamp Band will get just a little bit dirty, and Armchair Boogie will supply Wisconsin-style bluegrass, folk and funk.
This is the first year for Sugar Pine Music Festival, after the beloved Hangtown Music Festival made the announcement last year that it wouldn’t be continuing under that moniker any longer. In April, Sugar Pine announced to the world that it would be continuing the tradition of music in Grass Valley, and fans have been anxiously awaiting the lineup announcements ever since.
