Rockygrass Music Festival Offering Live Streaming

The Sold-out festival will be available to view from home for the first time in 49 years!

The team at Planet Bluegrass knows what they’re doing. 

These folks have been putting on some of the most iconic music festivals in the country for almost 25 years!  Telluride Bluegrass Festival, in Telluride, Colorado, is known as one of the best in the land, and Planet Bluegrass’ other offerings – Rockygrass and Folks Festival, both in Lyons, Colorado – are just as renowned.

That’s why, when the musical world began attempting to get back to some sort of normalcy, Planet Bluegrass led the pack.

As restrictions began to be lifted this Spring, they put the iconic Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons to use in a series of safe, socially distanced concerts they dubbed Spring Grass.  When it appeared that music festivals were going to actually happen this summer in some form, they made the bold decision to expand the standard-bearer of festivals – Telluride Bluegrass Festival – to 2 full weekends, safely accomodating a limited capacity while still bringing the best acts in the business to the stage.

Always one step ahead, Planet Bluegrass brought the limited capacity Bluegrass fest to the masses by offering up live streams of every main-stage act, along with workshop excerpts and scenes from around the festival.  As many fans can attest to (this one will!), it really made us feel like we were there, dancing and singing along with all of our festivarian family!

And now, Rockygrass Festival right around the corner, Planet Bluegrass has made the same live stream offering to the fans that can’t be there in person.

For the first time in its 49 year history, the celebrated RockyGrass bluegrass festival will offer a dynamic livestream. Produced by award-winning NOCOAST TV, the high-definition stream, which features 8 cameras and stereo audio will be available July 23rd to 25th, 2021.

The sold-out festival lineup includes Bela Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart, Sam Bush Bluegrass Band, The Infamous Stringdusters, Del McCoury Band, Della Mae, Tim O’Brien Band, Peter Rowan & Jerry Douglas, the Lil Smokies, and more.

Planet Bluegrass has coordinated a unique on-stage collaboration to celebrate the life and music of the late flatpicking guitar legend Tony Rice featuring Sam Bush, Béla Fleck, David Grisman, Jerry Douglas, Bryan Sutton, Chris Eldridge, and Mark Schatz, who have 22 GRAMMY wins between them.

Béla Fleck’s Rockygrass appearance represents a special opportunity to get a preview of his first bluegrass record since 1999.

To capture these unique moments, Planet Bluegrass will present a multi-camera stream, including exclusive merchandise, behind the scenes artist interviews, and some of RockyGrass’ epic campground jams. This is an outstanding chance for fans to participate in the festival virtually.
