Rhythms on the Rio 2018 Preview
The 13th Annual Rhythms on the Rio will take place on the banks of the Rio Grande River in South Fork, Colorado on August 3 – 5.
Rhythms on the Rio is an annual benefit music festival, in its 13th year, hosted by the South Fork Music Association.
The South Fork Music Association is a “non-profit entity that uses its funds for staging live music concerts for the entire family and promoting music education for children in our community.” Basically, this group puts on events like this to raise money to further music education in the community, ensuring continuing generations of musicians, so that we can always have amazing events like this one!
You can help the SFMA, not only by attending the 13th Annual Rhythms on the Rio but also by donating your used musical instruments! The South Fork Music Association will get them into the hands of kids who could use them.
Rhythms on the Rio: The Music
We all want to support a wonderful non-profit organization like the South Fork Music Association, but the real reason to travel to South Fork for Rhythms on the Rio is the music!
Rhythms has one stage, so you don’t need to worry about rushing around and having to choose between acts, but that one stage will be rocking with music from Dumpstaphunk, Grant Farm, Jeff Austin Band, Vince Herman, Drew Emmit and Andy Thorn, Keller Williams’ Pettygrass (with the Hillbenders), The Sweet Lillies, Eufórquestra, Liver Down the River and many many more!
Rhythms on the Rio: The River
It’s tough to find a better location for a music festival than Rhythms on the Rio. When we say you camp on the river, we mean ON the river!
Between sets you can easily grab a tube and float from the stage to the end of the campground, then take the short 5-minute walk back and do it again! Bring your fishing gear and get some casts in while listening to the stage, easily within earshot of the river. Or just cool off in the shallows while basking in the Colorado sun!
Volunteer at Rhythms on the Rio
Rhythms on the Rio is a volunteer organization. You can easily get involved as well!
By volunteering to work just 2 short shifts, you will be granted a full festival ticket for the weekend! That’s hard to beat.
There are currently only a few available shifts left, so don’t wait much longer for this.
Rhythms on the Rio Tickets
Tickets for this gem of a music festival are only $100 (plus $7 fee) for 3 days with camping! Hard to beat that deal!
