The Free Music Festival features The Bluegrass Generals, Drew Emmitt Band, Andy Thorn & Friends and more.

Here is a brief list of some of our favorite things:

Free.  As in, things that don’t cost money.

Fall.  As in, Autumn.

October.  A month in Autumn, otherwise known as Fall.  Known for perfect weather and beautiful foliage.

Colorado.  One of the most beautiful places in the world.  Renowned for its mountain towns.

Bluegrass Generals.  As in, Andy Hall and Chris Pandolfi of The Infamous Stringdusters, and a talented group of rotating members that they always put together to help undertake their mission to play kick-ass bluegrass music.

Why, you may ask, are we sharing our list of favorite things as if we are Julie Andrews consoling the Van Trapp children?

Because we have found a festival that includes them all!

FreeFall Bluegrass Festival is a FREE event taking place in Vail, CO on October 14 & 15.  The inaugural festival includes Bluegrass Generals, Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon) Band, Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon) & Friends, Jeremy Garrett (Infamous Stringdusters) & River Wild, Tenth Mountain Division, and Riverfront Ramblers.

Did we mention that it’s FREE?  And in the FALL?

Inaugural FreeFall Bluegrass Festival Set to Take Place in Vail, CO October 14 & 15, 2023

Vail, CO. (August 29, 2023) – The Inaugural FreeFall Bluegrass Festival is set to take place in Vail,
Colorado, October 14 & October 15, 2023. This free mountain-town bluegrass festival
surrounded by the changing fall colors is one not to miss for locals and tourists alike. Taking the
stage are Bluegrass Generals, Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon) Band, Andy Thorn (Leftover
Salmon) & Friends, Jeremy Garrett (Infamous String Dusters) & River Wild, Tenth Mountain
Division, and Riverfront Ramblers. More talent to be announced.

“The Town of Vail is beautiful in October, the trees are still changing and the air is getting that
fall feeling. A need was seen to provide guests and locals with activities and entertainment
during this period,” says Diane Moudy of Resort Entertainment Group. “Bluegrass music is
family-friendly and fits in perfectly with the mission.”

An event for the whole family! Starting at 11:00am Saturday and Sunday, bring the kiddos along
to play along with the Rock and Roll Playhouse. This kid-centered concert allows parents and
their little ones to dance and enjoy music in a fun and playful way.

Admission is free to all attendees. The Rock and Roll Playhouse starts at 11:00am with main
stage music starting at 12:00pm each day. Music goes until 7:30pm on Saturday, October 14,
2023 and 5:30pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
