OUT NOW: THE GREEN HOUSE BAND’S
THIRD STUDIO RELEASE, ‘BURNING BLUE’
Our introduction to Denver’s The Green House Band came last summer when they reached out asking us to premiere their (then) new single on Festy GoNuts.
“Raining on Vandeventer” instantly grabbed us and made us fans of this energetic, funky and soulful new group.
Now, with their 3rd studio release, The Green House Band is solidifying their place amongst Colorado’s best.
The Green House Band: “Burning Blue”
The Green House Band’s third studio release Burning Blue is now released on all streaming platforms.
To celebrate the album’s release, the band will headline Denver’s Bluebird Theatre on September 10th for the official album release show.
The 4-track release was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Colorado Sound Studios (Norah Jones, John Mayer, D’angelo) and traverses colorful sonic and lyrical spectrums. Ranging from impassioned indie-soul-rock track, “Green Velvet Couch” to the album’s psychedelic riff-laden, driving finale “Dancing Alone,” Burning Blue finds at its core creative and relatable lyrics woven into imaginative and energetic instrumental arrangements.
The Green House Band has been featured in 303 Magazine, Live Music Blog, Prelude Press and Westword. (AND FESTY GONUTS!) Bolder Beat compared TGHB to Tedeschi Trucks Band, citing a “driving rhythm section mixed with smooth vocals” and “layers of instrumentals and harmonies that mix together
beautifully.”
About The Green House Band:
Marlee Sacks [lead vocals], Michael Nunnink [guitar], Matt Paradise [keys, vocals], Hayden Bellamy [guitar], Tommy Willen [bass], Joe Simon [drums]
The Green House Band celebrates their third year together with Burning Blue, The Denver six piece’s new set of soulful, organic, and energetic originals. Their third studio release marks a great leap in musicianship, songwriting, and energy that highlights the band’s collective growth from playing years of barn-burner shows together, as well as their ability to continually explore new sonic territory together. The band’s 18 show 2022 regional tour culminates on 09.10.22 at their album release party headlining Denver’s iconic Bluebird Theatre.
Fronted by Nashville-raised lead vocalist Marlee Sacks, the The Green House Band has been delivering electric performances rooted in soul, rock, funk, and americana since 2019 at some of Colorado’s greatest venues such as Belly Up Aspen, Boulder Theatre, Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom, Fox Theatre, Cervantes’ Other Side, Schmiggity’s, The Lariat, and Globe Hall, along with regional music festivals. The Green House Band has had the privilege of sharing the stage with musical greats along the way, including Kip Moore, The Motet, Dumpstaphunk, Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, Chris Isaak, The Main Squeeze, and The Kitchen Dwellers.
In their full length feature of the band’s 2021 full length album Ocotillo, 303 Magazine commends that the long play, “shows the full breadth of the band’s ability. Drawing on a variety of influences, from Americana and blues to indie and acoustic, the album captures a wide array of emotions without ever sacrificing the cohesive feel of an album”, “[Ocotillo] is an album that is filled with emotion and creativity.” The Green House Band’s self-titled debut 2020 EP is featured in Prelude Press and Westword, and Bolder Beat compared the release with Tedeschi Trucks Band, citing “a driving rhythm section mixed with smooth vocals” and “layers of instrumentals and harmonies that mix together beautifully”.
