Colter Wall Releases New Album: Memories And Empties
article by Maria Ivey
Colter Wall’s New Album, Memories And Empties, Is A Lively Foray Into Classic Country
Southwestern Corner of Saskatchewan – November 14, 2025 – “I wanted to make a straight-ahead country album,” says rancher and recording artist Colter Wall of his brand new LP, Memories and Empties—out [now] on La Honda Records and RCA Records. “There’s some cowboy vernacular and western-isms that crept their way into a few of these songs, but mostly, I was pointed towards more country themes. And the sound is representative of that.”
Wall, joined by his longtime producing partner and touring guitarist Pat Lyons, entered Nashville’s RCA Studio A with that country sound in mind, one evoking what most still call the heyday of country music; a sound fit for dancehalls, honky tonks, and truck cab AM radios. Wall wrote nine of the songs on the record, with a cover of Ian Tyson’s “Summer Wages” rounding out the album. The stories told in song on Memories and Empties are full of characters in love, working to the bone, losing time, and humbled before their creator.
Stream or purchase Memories and Empties in its entirety at this link. Memories and Empties vinyl is available in standard or deluxe. Standard editions are pressed on opaque, bone colored vinyl. Deluxe editions feature an alternate album cover, are pressed on 180g opaque sky blue vinyl, with a 12×12″ lyric insert, and also include an alternate take of “Like the Hills” available only on vinyl.
