Andy Thorn and Cecila Thorn: The Thornbirds “Got The Fox As Company” Video
Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon has just appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show for his videos of his backyard fox!
Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon has played for many different audiences of all types and sizes. But it is one particular audience that has made news.
Living on the foothills of Boulder, Colorado, Andy and his wife Cecilia enjoy many wildlife visitors to their back yard. One, a red fox, has seemed to enjoy their company just as well.
Andy would play his banjo outside, and the fox, named “Foxy,” often would appear. The more Andy played, the more Foxy would stick around.
In the early days of the pandemic-caused quarantine of Spring 2020, Foxy was the only visitor that Andy and Cecilia Thorn ever had, so they wrote the tune, “Got The Fox As Company” and recorded it as The Thornbirds. They created the video for the song as a special segment for a Festy From The Futon episode, a variety show produced by Festy GoNuts during the quarantine. “Got The Fox As Company” went on to be featured on a full-length album that Andy and Cecilia Thorn released, entitled “Fox Songs and Other Tales From The Pandemic.”
As Foxy’s visitations became more and more regular, Cecila began recording their interactions, and Andy Thorn shared the videos on his YouTube channel.
People were amazed by the interactions, and the fox videos quickly went viral. It’s no surprise why. Andy Thorn is an extremely gifted musician, and watching him play in the gorgeous surroundings of their Colorado backyard is something to see. When a beautiful little fox comes to watch and enjoy the show, now that’s entertainment!
And now Andy Thorn and Foxy have made National news. Andy Thorn was recently interviewed on Denver Colorado’s Channel 2 News, and on the Nationally broadcasted Kelly Clarkson Show!
